A Jamaican Christian youth ministry
Supporting the spiritual growth, leadership and well-being of young people through Christian education, recreation, service and community.
Our continuing legacy
For generations, Camp Hope has given young people a place to grow in faith, build lasting relationships, develop leadership skills and experience the joy of Christian fellowship.
Camp Hope Jamaica Association works to help sustain that legacy.
How it beganOur story
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Three Moravian men gathered to celebrate their 50th birthdays—and chose to make the occasion mean more.
Hopeton Clennon, Chester Morris and Dr. Kofi Nkrumah-Young wanted to give back to the church and summer camp that had shaped their development and their relationship with God.
Their celebration became a fundraiser for Camp Hope. Its first major result was practical and lasting: a commercial stove for the camp kitchen.
The success inspired Winston Peart, Ammar Allison, Antoinette Davidson and Karlene Woodbine to join future fundraising efforts—forming the foundation of Camp Hope Jamaica Association.

About Camp Hope
Camp Hope is a ministry of the Moravian Church in Jamaica, a church serving the island since 1754.
Established in 1958 near Whitehouse, Westmoreland, the camp adjoins New Hope Moravian Church—founded in 1835. Its private beach looks across the bay toward a tourist resort and fishing village.
July is the heart of the camp season, with week-long programs for different age groups and weekend retreats for young adults.
